Jurassic clumps of handsome, broad green foliage bordered in a wash of burgundy to 18ö x 12ö, with green stems rising to 10 ft. or more, flowering very late in the season, and infrequently winning the race with frost, at least in our cool maritime climate (smaller orange-red flowers when they do) û yet still seemingly content in growth here where it produces astounding, mind-bogglingly leafy columns. An exceptional C. musifolia hybrid that we received from Marco Stufano, former director of horticulture at Wave Hill in the Bronx.
