Darmera peltata $6.99
Indian Rhubarb
Leafless, early spring stems of rich pink flowers emerge from the damp soil to 2 ft., to be replaced later by enormous, umbrella-like leaves that color richly in autumn if grown in full sun. An outstanding American native; I have observed this species growing in standing water in the Siskiyou Mts. of S. Oregon, while content growing in the chilly climates of S. Vermont in the garden of North Hill. *We ship one-year old, bare-root plants.
*Absorbs & releases water in your soil. Containers never dry out! Mixed in your soil, Soil Moist absorbs and retains water like a sponge. It slowly releases water back to your plant's root system as needed. Roots won't dry out as fast as untreated soil. Significantly aids in new plant establishment and reduces transplant shock. Fantastic for containers!

Rodgersia pinnata 'Die Stolze' $12.95
Rodger's Flower
With handsome, finely cut leaves looking more helleboraceous than Paeonia and lovely, nodding rich pink flowers in May, for beauty that can be described as purely and wonderfully simple. 2 ft.; an easy species for full sun or light shade in well-drained soil.
Aralia cordata [DJH 188] $12.25
Japanese Spikenard
Japanese Spikenard. This species, which I collected on Ulleong-do in the Japanese Sea, has medium green, pinnate foliage and long racemes of greenish-white flowers resulting in lovely sprays of purplish-black fruit. For average soil in full sun or partial shade.
A superb selection of feathered finery from a deciduous species with interlocking pinnae which criss-cross along the entire frond and crest at the tip. This easily grown specimen is a masterpiece of texture in full sun or partial shade and humus-rich, moist soil.
