A studied gaze at the elegant flower stalks reveals many that have one full-sized ruby-red blossom growing on top of a second. We think this tandem presentation creates the most beautiful of bee balms. Blooms emit a delicate perfume that is accompanied by a sweet mint fragrance from the leaves. The combination of heady scents and vivid color of the blossoms has proven to be irresistible to hummingbirds and butterflies. A workhorse in our garden where it reblooms well into fall and shows no signs of the typical powdery mildew problems.

Noticeably darker green leaves than the species highlight the bright, pure violet flowers so they seem like fireworks bursting from each stem. Tight, compact plants are highly mildew resistant and perform magnificently in the sunniest locations. A dramatic attractant of birds and butterflies.
