A very useful selection of this fragrant, autumn-blossoming species, with jagged, holly-like evergreen leaves borne along stiffly upright stems, ultimately to 6 ft. in height, but no wider than 4 ft. These are from cuttings sent to us by J.C. Raulston who was equally excited by this new selection, all the more reason to cherish it in our gardens.
A striking shrub for the mixed border or foundation planting with bright evergreen holly-like foliage irregularly blotched and streaked with yellow, effective in summer and winter alike, along an upright framework to 6 ft. or more over time. Sweetly fragrant axillary white flowers are produced in September and October, as for the species. Full sun or light shade, in any well-drained soil.
