The hardiest of all Palms for us in the PNW, with large fans of stiff ribbed foliage and, if the old leaves are removed, remarkable dark, bristly petiolated trunks. There is nothing quite like the shimmy of the foliage of this species on a windy winter day (viewed from indoors with a cup of hot chocolate). A good pot plant for colder climates. 25 ft. or taller over time.
